LA SERRANIA FAQ

When it comes to attending an Art2life workshop, our aim is to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for you. As such, we’ve put together this handy FAQ bank – if you have a question about this workshop, you’ll likely find the answer here! That said, if you do have a question that isn’t covered below, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@art2life.com and it would be our pleasure to help.

Dates, Travel and Accommodations
La Serrania Address: Poligono XII, Parcela 182, Campanet, Mallorca, Spain
Workshop dates: July 6th to July 13th, 2019
Room check in time on July 6th: 3:00pm
Room check out time on July 13th: 10:00am
All workshop attendees and instructors must leave La Serrania by 11:00am

La Serrania cannot accommodate workshop attendees arriving prior to July 6th or leaving after July 13th.

When traveling to Mallorca, you will be flying into Palma de Mallorca Airport (the call letters are PMI). As the check in time for the workshop is 3pm, please book your flights such that you land at PMI around 1pm to 2pm on July 6th. When departing from PMI, please also consider that all workshop attendees must leave La Serrania by 11:00am.

Workshop attendees are responsible for arriving at La Serrania on their own. The trip from the airport takes about 40 minutes and taxis cost approximately 70€, which comes to about $74, while a taxi ride from La Serrania into Pollensa (the closest town to La Serrania) costs about 20€, or roughly $22. As such, La Serrania recommends having some cash on hand. There is the possibility of organizing a shuttle If enough workshop attendees express interest in booking a shuttle to and from PMI airport to La Serrania. The average cost for the shuttle per person is around 30€, or roughly $34 dollars.

Your workshop fee covers all lodging and food at La Serrania (all of which is cooked by a private chef booked specifically for this workshop). La Serranía prides itself on offering quality, healthy meals, served in a distinct ‘Mediterranean’ style rather than specifically Spanish, meaning that your meals will include dishes from the entire region. La Serrania also offers an extensive buffet breakfast (tea, coffee, juice, müsli, yogurt, fruit and nuts, bread, cheese and jams), and a buffet lunch with a choice of dishes dependent on the weather and season. Dinner is served at the table and includes 3 courses and wine. Water and fruit are available throughout the day. Food allergies and dietary restrictions can – for the most part – be easily accommodated while at La Serrania.

Lush gardens surround La Serrania, and retreat participants are encouraged to enjoy them at their leisure. La Serrania also has a pool, so be certain to bring a bathing suit!

In addition to bringing a bathing suit, please bring clothes suited for warm to hot weather. July in Pollensa is one of the hottest times of the year, and temperatures there are expected to be around the mid 70’s to 80’s during the time of our retreat.

La Serrania also offers yoga mats and blankets available for use at any time. There is also internet in the common areas, but none in the bedrooms.

Art Materials
One of the hallmarks of any Art2life workshop is the Art Kit. This kit is sent to every Art2life workshop attendee, and it contains everything you need to enjoy the workshop. Please note that your Art2life Art Kit, if you are traveling to La Serrania by plane, MUST be checked as luggage; you cannot carry it onto the plane. To learn what each Art Kit contains, just click here. If there are art materials you would like to bring that are not included in the art kit, then we certainly encourage you to do so.

The weight of the art kit is around 11 lbs.

Art kits are typically sent out 2 to 3 months prior to the start of the workshop. If this schedule does not work for you, please let us know at your earliest convenience and it would be our pleasure to accommodate you if possible. On that note, for those of you attending the workshop who do not live in the United States, Nicholas will be bringing your art kit with him.
